Events & News"It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.”
Fr. Albeen Reddy Vatti was born in Warangal, India and is a lifelong Catholic. He attended Catholic schools from kindergarten until graduation from high school at which time he joined the seminary. From his early teenage years, he had a strong desire to become a diocesan priest. His parents’ faith was a great inspiration in his early life and their encouragement had a strong influence on his aspiration to become a priest.
On March 6, 2000, Fr. Albeen was ordained as a diocesan priest for the Catholic Diocese of Warangal, India. Along with his long seminary education and formation, he also received a Bachelor of Education degree and completed post-graduation in Public Administration. From his ordination until 2012, he served as a pastor and principal of a Catholic School in India.
The Diocese of Jackson invited Fr. Albeen to work on-loan beginning October 2012. Upon his arrival in America, he served as a parochial vicar at St. Richards Catholic Church for five months. In February 2013, he moved to New Albany, Mississippi where he served as pastor for three years. He has been the Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Madison, Mississippi since February 1, 2016.
With the Bishop’s approval, our parish sets aside one weekend each year for a special collection for the Diocese of Warangal, Father Albeen’s “home” diocese. Bishop Udumala Bala, Bishop of Warangal, permits a few priests from his diocese to work in the U.S. and this gesture truly makes a difference to the mission in India.
